3 day intensive workshop wherein you will create a beautiful hair off buckskin leather the old fashioned way using the brains of the animal to make the leather soft. This method has been used by native americans and stone age peoples all over the world for hundreds of years to create a soft chamois type of leather. You will take home a finished, smoked brain tanned deerskin.
Registration fee covers all materials, supplies, dinner Friday, Saturday and camping.

Old Fashion Goat Milk Soap Making February 2nd
We will use the hot process method and learn how to make real goat milk soaps the old fashioned way... over the fire! You will have two bars of soap to take home. Class held here at the farm and will be outdoors, unless we have inclement weather. Bring warm clothes and something to roast on the fire if you desire.

Cheese Making 101 & Tasting
If you are new to cheesemaking or simply curious about the process this is a great place to start. We will make a simple mozzarella to eat in class while we discuss cheesemaking basics. Topics will include milk sources and transport, rennet and cultures, curds and whey. We will taste 4 types of cheese and discuss the qualities of each including fresh, brined, waxed and bloomy rind cheeses.

Dairy Goats & Cheese Making
We will be milking goats on Saturday and Sunday morning for the fresh milk to use in our weekend cheese making adventure! On Saturday we will cover the basics of cheese making while we start a soft Chevre and Feta cheese. On Sunday we'll finish and flavor our Chevre and brine our Feta for you to take home and age. We will also have a tasting of a variety of local aged cheeses to enjoy and learn from. Registration includes dinner Saturday night, all materials, supplies and camping.
